BARAMULLA: Continuing its drive against illegal mining activities across the district, J&K Police seized 02 tractors in Baramulla involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mining material in separate areas of the district.
During routine checking and naka duties, a tractor bearing Chassis No. WZCG 61942958806 carrying illegally extracted boulders from Chanderseer was intercepted and seized by Police under the provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR Act). In another action, a tractor bearing Registration No. JK05H-0204 loaded with illegally extracted clay/Naal Mukh from Wagila Nallah was also intercepted and seized under the relevant provisions of the MMDR Act.
Police remains committed towards curbing illegal mining activities which pose a serious threat to the environment and public resources. Strict action against violators will continue in accordance with law.
