JAMMU: The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) convened the first meeting of its Board of Directors under the leadership of Chief Patron Sham Lal Sharma. The meeting saw the participation of Patrons Sat Paul Sharma, Bodh Raj Khajuria , Patron, Ravi Verma, Patron, Ram Paul Sharma Ex CAO, Advisory committee member, K.D. Sharma Sr. Board Member along with other Board Members, Executive Body members, General Body members, and members of the Advisory Body, demonstrating the cohesive and collaborative spirit of the organization, besides number of Sarpanches, Panches, locals, ladies and gents.

Mohan Lal JKPS, SSP, was the special guest for the occasion. In his address, SSP Mohan Lal lauded the initiatives of SGWF and emphasized the importance of law enforcement agencies working in tandem with NGOs to safeguard the environment. He spoke about the critical role that the police force plays in protecting natural resources and ensuring the enforcement of environmental laws. His presence and insights added significant value to the proceedings, reinforcing the collaborative spirit necessary for effective environmental stewardship.

Bhushan Bral, DDC Bhalwal Brahmana, welcomed all the guests with a warm and engaging introduction. Mr. Bral, known for his extensive work in rural development and community engagement, praised the efforts of SGWF in promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between governmental bodies and NGOs in addressing the environmental challenges faced by the region. His speech set an inspiring tone for the meeting, emphasizing the need for continued dedication and partnership.

Dr. Sonia Verma, Director of SGWF, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the foundation’s achievements and the critical role it plays in environmental conservation and community development. Dr. Verma, a renowned environmentalist and conservationist, has been instrumental in leading various successful initiatives aimed at protecting natural habitats and promoting sustainable practices. Her extensive experience and passion for environmental issues have been pivotal in driving the organization’s mission forward. In her address, Dr. Verma highlighted the importance of community involvement and the need for innovative approaches to tackle environmental challenges.

Er. Rohit Sharma, General Secretary, presented the agenda points before the house for approval. The agenda included strategic planning for upcoming projects, review of ongoing initiatives, and discussions on strengthening the organization's impact on environmental and social issues.

Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, presented a comprehensive progress report of the NGO. She highlighted key milestones achieved over the past year, including successful community engagement programs, conservation projects, and educational campaigns. Reeta Verma also elaborated on future plans, which include expanding the NGO's reach, launching new environmental conservation initiatives, and enhancing community involvement.

Shamsher Singh, Ex-Sarpanch of Gurha Brahamana, presented a detailed overview of the NGO’s activities and the socio-topography of Akhnoor tehsil. His insights provided valuable context to the foundation’s work, emphasizing the unique environmental and social challenges faced by the region and how SGWF's initiatives are tailored to address these issues effectively.

Sham Lal Sharma, Ex-Cabinet Minister and Chief Patron of SGWF, was the chief guest of the event. He appraised the working of the NGO, commending its dedication and accomplishments. Mr. Sharma, a prominent political leader and social activist, has a distinguished career in public service, having held several key positions in the government, including that of Cabinet Minister. His vast experience in governance and policy-making, coupled with his deep commitment to social and environmental causes, has been a driving force behind SGWF's initiatives.

During the meeting, Mr. Sharma provided valuable guidance on future plans, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development and community participation in achieving long-term goals. His vision and leadership continue to inspire and steer the foundation towards greater impact.Following the board meeting, a plantation drive was organized at Panchayat Ghar Gurha Brahamana East by Shamsher Singh. The drive symbolized the NGO’s commitment to environmental conservation and community welfare. Sham Lal Sharma planted a summer apple tree, donated by Reeta Verma in memory of her late husband. This act of planting trees not only honored a personal memory but also reinforced the foundation's dedication to fostering a greener future.
