The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SAMBA: DDC Chairman Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Community Hall and rooms near Trimbakeshwar Temple, Purmandal, adjoining AIIMS Vijaypur. The project with an estimated cost of ₹1.05 crore aims to augment facilities for devotees and visitors at the prominent pilgrimage site.

The foundation ceremony was held in the presence of DDC Vice-Chairman Samba, Balwan Singh and DDC members of the district. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman stated that the project will provide improved amenities for pilgrims and strengthen infrastructure in the temple area. He added that the initiative reflects the commitment towards development of religious and tourism infrastructure in the district.

The community hall and rooms will serve as a dedicated space for gatherings, accommodation and other community activities, particularly during religious events and peak pilgrimage seasons. The project will be executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department.
