His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. • Says any attempt to weaken the National Conference will undermine peace, stability and development in the region.

JAMMU: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, Jammu Province, J&K National Conference, expressed serious concern over the political developments following the recent press conference of Ram Madhav, in which he reportedly made remarks regarding BJP's support to Rahullah.

Gupta said that the BJP should refrain from indulging in political activities that could disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir. He observed that J&K is a sensitive border region, and maintaining peace, stability and communal harmony must remain the collective responsibility of every political party.

He cautioned that such political distractions could adversely affect the interests of J&K as well as the nation. Any attempt to weaken the National Conference through political manoeuvring would be counterproductive and could create unnecessary political uncertainty in an already sensitive region.

Referring to LOP’s utterences Gupta said that LOP suffering from Abdullah-Phobia and needs to study the history of Jammu and Kashmir particularly the events of 1947 when Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and National Conference volunteers stood united to defend non muslims and Kashmir against Pakistan tribal raiders.

Sheikh Mohd Abdullah was so towering personality and symbol of socialism, secularism and sacrifice even President of India Sanjeeva Reddy said that the name of Sher-e- Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah should be named of Sher-e- Bharat Sheikh Mohd Abdullah so LOP must understand the history of Abdullah family.

Gupta asserted that the National Conference has a long history of facing difficult circumstances and numerous challenges with courage, determination and commitment. The party has consistently stood for the unity, secular values, democratic rights and peaceful coexistence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that political differences are part and parcel of democracy, but they should never be allowed to compromise peace, public confidence and the larger interests of the region and the country.
