The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SRINAGAR: In a major push toward streamlining regulatory processes and reducing compliance burdens for the healthcare sector, a review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Athar Amir Ul Shafi Khan, Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K, at the Old Secretariat, Srinagar.

The meeting featured a comprehensive operational review and live demonstration of the Single Window Clearance (SWC) Portal. The meeting was attended by the Nodal Officer, Single Window System and Director, Industries & Commerce Department, Jammu, along with their technical team; Officers from the Health and Medical Education Department, J&K; Director  Health Services Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Director (IT) from NIC, J&K; Chief Medical Officers from Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Jammu, and Rajouri, State M&E Officer, NHM, J&K, with outstation officers joining via virtual mode.

As part of the ongoing implementation of Reducing Compliance Burden (RCB) initiative, the department highlighted significant strides made in integrating crucial healthcare-related services into the unified digital framework. Reviewing the current status, it was noted that Clinical Establishment Registration and PC&PNDT Registration have been successfully integrated and made live on the SWC Portal. Necessary instructions have already been issued for the mandatory processing of all applications exclusively through the online portal, which is actively being utilized across all districts.

Furthermore, deliberations were held on the remaining target services, including Drug Licensing Services and Food Business Operator (FBO) Licensing & Registration Services, which are being facilitated through respective national-level platforms including the Online National Drug Licensing System (ONDLS) and the FSSAI FoSCoS Portal integrated with the National Single Window System (NSWS).

The meeting focused on evaluating end-to-end portal workflows covering application registration, verification, inspection, and approval processes. Field-level officers provided direct feedback on operational bottlenecks and user-interface enhancements to ensure seamless service delivery.

Concluding the review, the Mission Director instructed officials to promptly bridge any existing operational gaps and ensure the single window system is fully functional for the benefit of the general public.
