The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh today organized a pledge-taking ceremony to mark the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative aimed at combating substance abuse across the nation.

The programme was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Koshal Mangotra, Principal of the College, who emphasised the importance of youth participation in building a healthy and progressive society.

The event focused on spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse, highlighting how addiction negatively impacts individuals, families and the social fabric.

The speakers stressed the urgent need for collective action to create a drug-free environment for youth who represent the future of the nation. Awareness messages, motivational insights and real-life examples were shared to help students understand the long-term consequences of drug dependency.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Arjun Singh, who encouraged students to actively contribute to anti-drug campaigns within their communities.
