The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • Says LG Government performance “much better” compared to NC rule; assures people of JD(U)’s commitment to grassroots issues

ANANTNAG: Janata Dal (United) Jammu & Kashmir President Mr. G.M. Shaheen, accompanied by the party’s executive team, visited Dak Bungalow Khanabal, Anantnag, where he met several delegations and local representatives.

During the day-long programme, Mr. Shaheen listened patiently to the grievances of the people on issues including unemployment, poor road infrastructure, power shortages, and lack of healthcare facilities. He addressed some concerns on the spot and assured the people that JD(U) would be their voice at every platform.

Speaking to media persons after the interactions, Mr. Shaheen launched a scathing attack on the National Conference government, declaring that it had “failed on all fronts” and betrayed the aspirations of the people.

He further said that the present LG administration has been “much better and more accountable” than the previous NC regime, highlighting that welfare measures and reforms under the LG show more seriousness towards governance. Mr. Shaheen reiterated that JD(U) is committed to grassroots empowerment, youth welfare, and accountability in governance, calling upon the people to strengthen the party’s mission of development and social justice.
