The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar today laid the foundation stone of Layer House–II at the Poultry Project, Hariparbat. He was accompanied by MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on the occasion.

During the visit, the Minister also reviewed the overall functioning of poultry sector, emphasising on improving efficiency and productivity. He directed the concerned department to formulate a holistic action plan aimed at making the poultry sector self-sufficient and a key driver of J&K’s economy.

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering farmers, enhancing local production, and creating robust livelihood opportunities through sectoral reforms and targeted interventions.

The new facility marks a significant step forward in strengthening Jammu & Kashmir’s poultry sector. The upcoming Layer House–II will have the capacity to rear 1,900 parent stock birds and produce 1.70 lakh hatching eggs annually, greatly boosting the availability of high-quality layer chicks for farmers and field units across the region. This expansion is expected to play a crucial role in meeting local demand and promoting sustainable poultry production.
