The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

PULWAMA: District Administration Pulwama, in collaboration with the District Employment and Counselling Centre Pulwama, today organised a one-day job fair at Government Degree College (Boys) Pulwama, aimed at promoting employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and self-employment among the youth of the district.

The programme was attended by the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pulwama, Waheed Ur Rehman Para. The job fair witnessed an enthusiastic response from the youth, with more than a hundred participants shortlisted by around 16 companies that participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA encouraged the youth to explore opportunities in the self-employment sector and strive to become job providers. He urged them to focus on skill development to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the available workforce.

On the occasion, the MLA also inspected stalls set up by various departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Handicrafts, Handloom, Fisheries, NRLM, and Industries, showcasing different self-employment schemes.

These stalls provided detailed information on scheme benefits, financial assistance, and application procedures to facilitate and encourage aspiring entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the MLA distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries under Mission YUVA.

Among others, the programme was attended by Principal, Government Degree College (Boys) Pulwama; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Pulwama; Assistant Director Employment, Pulwama; District Employment Officer; Career Counselling Officer (CCO), besides other senior officers from the Employment Department and other concerned departments.
