In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: As part of the PM Shri Green School Initiative, PM Shri Government Girls Middle School Jindrah organized an insightful field visit to the historic and spiritually significant region of Manser, aimed at educating students about local traditions, history, and environmental conservation.

The field visit was supervised by Incharge School Shamash Din, who guided the students throughout the excursion, ensuring that they gained valuable insights into the region’s cultural and ecological heritage. The primary objective of this visit was to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among students while enriching their understanding of their local history, customs, and spiritual traditions.

During the visit, students were introduced to the historical relevance of Manser, a site known for its spiritual and cultural significance. The region, home to Manser Lake, holds an important place in local folklore and is deeply connected to the heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. The students learned about the religious, ecological, and historical importance of the area, which serves as both a pilgrimage site and a tourist attraction.

The  emphasis was placed on the environmental conservation efforts around Manser. Students were encouraged to understand the role of water bodies, forests, and biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance. The initiative helped them appreciate the necessity of preserving natural resources and the importance of sustainable practices.

The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes experiential learning and community-based education.

Incharge Shamash Din expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating: "This field visit has been an enriching experience for our students.
