The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. KATHUA: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today addressed a district-level workshop in Kathua held under the ongoing “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Mahabhiyan–2026,” focusing on organizational strengthening, ideological orientation, and capacity-building of party workers.

The workshop was addressed by BJP J&K Vice President and former Minister Priya Sethi, who participated alongside BJP Jammu & Kashmir General Secretary Gopal Mahajan, senior leader Prem Dogra and other BJP leaders. The event was organised in the presence of District President Updesh Andotra and witnessed active participation from party functionaries and grassroots workers from across Kathua district.

Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi emphasised the importance of structured training programmes in building a strong and disciplined organisation. She said that the Prashikshan Mahabhiyan aims to equip workers with ideological clarity, effective communication skills, and a deeper understanding of public service.

Highlighting the legacy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, she noted that the campaign is rooted in the philosophy of Antyodaya, which focuses on the upliftment of the last person in society. She encouraged party workers to strengthen their connect with the public by addressing local issues with dedication and sensitivity.

Addressing the gathering, Gopal Mahajan underlined the significance of continuous learning and organisational coordination. He stated that such workshops provide an opportunity for party members to exchange ideas, review grassroots challenges, and develop strategies for effective outreach. Mahajan urged workers to remain committed to the principles of good governance, teamwork, and transparency, adding that strong organisational foundations are essential for delivering public welfare initiatives effectively.

BJP District President Kathua Updesh Andotra welcomed the participants and highlighted the role of local leadership in strengthening the party structure at the booth and mandal levels. She stressed that training initiatives help in building confidence among workers and encourage greater participation of youth and women in political and social activities. Andotra expressed confidence that the knowledge gained during the workshop would further energise the cadre and enhance their ability to serve society.

During the session, Prem Dogra also discussed various organisational topics, including communication strategies, public engagement, leadership responsibilities, and effective implementation of party programmes at the grassroots level. Rajesh Mehta General Secretary District Kathua conducted the proceedings of the workshop. Interactive discussions and feedback from participants added vibrancy to the workshop, reflecting enthusiasm among workers towards strengthening the organisation.

The leaders collectively reiterated their commitment to expanding the party’s outreach through disciplined organisational efforts and continuous training. They encouraged participants to carry forward the message of service, unity, and development in their respective areas. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, with participants expressing appreciation for the leadership’s guidance and reaffirming their resolve to work collectively for organisational growth and public welfare in the region.
