The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member Raman Suri today said that the martyrdom of soldiers of the Indian Army in protecting our borders will never go to waste. He asserted that such supreme sacrifices, coming close to the Independence Day celebrations, reaffirm that our valiant soldiers are motivated, prepared, and ever-ready to defend the nation—even if it means sacrificing their lives to ensure the tricolour keeps furling high.

Referring to the latest incident in the Uri sector, where an Army soldier, Havildar Ankit Kumar, was martyred while foiling an infiltration bid from Pakistan, Raman Suri paid rich tributes to the Chinar Corps for their unmatched courage and commitment. He said the Corps’ sacrifices will be etched in the nation’s memory for generations. Havildar Ankit Kumar, who was on operational duty in Churanda village along the Line of Control (LoC), laid down his life in an exchange of fire with terrorists.

In another recent incident, Sepoy Banoth Anil Kumar too made the supreme sacrifice while on operational duty in Baramulla district. These infiltration attempts, reportedly backed by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), were foiled by the Army, which recovered large quantities of war-like stores including a pistol, explosives, ammunition, and grenades.

Raman Suri said that as India celebrates its Independence Day on August 15, 2025, the nation does so with a renewed commitment to take the country to new heights and eliminate whatever residual militancy remains in Jammu and Kashmir. “People are sick of militancy and have witnessed immense progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our resolve now is stronger than ever,” he added.

Greeting the people on Independence Day, Raman Suri took a dig at political outfits like the Congress and National Conference, which are staging protests and creating scenes on roads over the demand for statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “They know very well that this demand will certainly be fulfilled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah—but only after the situation is fully normalised and the remnants of militancy are eliminated. Their street theatrics are nothing but hollow dreams unleashed on roads because these parties have run out of constructive agendas and issues,” he said. Raman Suri reiterated that the sacrifices of the Army will be honoured with decisive action against terrorism and by ensuring that peace, stability, and progress remain the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir’s future.
