• For students whose Fall 2026 plans were derailed by visa delays, Prodigy Finance is opening Spring applications early, with funding of up to $220,000, no cosigner and no collateral required.

LONDON: Thousands of students had their Fall plans upended this year, some still waiting on visa decisions, others sent back to the drawing board after a rejection. In response, Prodigy Finance has opened its Spring intake applications earlier than usual, giving students more time to sort their visa and their funding before the next cycle closes in on them too.

With so many students still navigating visa uncertainty, Prodigy Finance is opening its Spring intake applications earlier than usual this year. The reasoning is simple. The sooner you sort your visa submission with your university and get your funding secured, the stronger your chances of actually making it to campus on time.

Prodigy Finance has supported postgraduate students headed to the world's top universities since 2007, without requiring a cosigner or collateral. This year's early opening responds directly to what the company is seeing from students right now. Fall admits are stuck waiting on visa appointments, some deferring their start dates altogether, and Spring applicants asking for more runway to avoid the same outcome.

According to the American Council on Education's report on IIE's Open Doors 2025 snapshot survey, the overwhelming majority of institutions cited concerns about the visa application process, including delays and denials, as the primary reason for declines in new international enrolments. The pattern is not confined to the US. Students bound for Australia and other popular destinations have described similar waits for interview slots and processing decisions this year, and many are choosing to apply for financing and university confirmation as early as possible to protect their options.

Applications for Spring open on 1 September 2026 and remain open for a limited window. Students who deferred their Fall enrolment and students applying fresh to Spring are being treated equally, with no priority given to either group.

Eligible applicants can access funding of up to USD 220,000, disbursed in the same currency as the country they are studying in, across the US, Australia and Prodigy Finance's other supported destinations. This matters particularly for Indian students navigating rupee depreciation, since currency-matched disbursement removes one major source of financial uncertainty. There is no co-signer and no collateral requirement, with eligibility based on merit and acceptance to a supported school.

Sonal Kapoor, Global Chief Business Officer at Prodigy Finance, says opening Spring early was a deliberate call. "With so many students currently going through visa uncertainty, getting everything sorted as early as possible just made sense. Spring applications are limited, and both students who deferred from Fall and new applicants will have an equal opportunity to apply. From the US, which many students have found genuinely difficult this cycle, to Australia and other top destinations, students can explore and apply to renowned universities across our supported network. For students heading to the UK specifically, our team can also walk them through deposit waiver options, since we have partnered with several universities that do not require upfront deposits when the loan itself covers that cost."

Sonal adds that this opportunity is open to every eligible student equally. "Whether you graduated from a government institution or a top private college, the criteria are the same. There is no third party involved in this process, and we always encourage students to apply only through Prodigy Finance's official channels."

Sonal's advice to students applying for spring is  "do not wait until the last minute. In the US specifically, visa application timelines have stretched to nearly a year in some cases, which means the students who start early on funding, university documentation, and their visa process are the ones who tend to make it through. Many students who prepared well in advance last cycle successfully made it into Fall. With the right planning, starting now, Spring can be your moment too.
