BANDIPORA: As part of the ongoing Jal Mahotsav Pakhwada, water testing and awareness demonstrations were conducted by the Division and Sub-Divisional laboratories across various schools in District Bandipora to sensitise students about the importance of safe drinking water and water quality monitoring.
The activities were organised under the Jal Jeevan Mission as part of the district-level programme being observed from March 8 to March 22, aimed at promoting awareness regarding safe drinking water, water conservation, and community participation in the management of rural water supply systems.
During the programme, demonstrations on water quality testing using Field Test Kits (FTKs) were conducted by the technical staff of the laboratories. Students were educated about various parameters of drinking water quality and the significance of regular monitoring to ensure safe and potable water.
The students were also sensitised about the importance of protecting water sources, maintaining hygiene around drinking water points, and adopting responsible practices for water conservation.
The initiative aimed to create awareness among young students and encourage them to become responsible ambassadors of water conservation and safe water practices within their communities.
