KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma presided over a review meeting of the District AYUSH Society (DAS) in the capacity of its Chairman. CEO DAS and District Nodal Officer AYUSH Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal gave a detailed presentation on the infrastructure and working of the AYUSH Department in the district.
The District Nodal Officer briefed the meeting about the role of AYUSH staff in promoting preventive healthcare and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases. He also discussed the requirement of space for setting up a District AYUSH Medical Store and a Nursery for Medicinal Plants. The Deputy Commissioner assured support by providing rented accommodation for the Medical Store and suitable land for the Nursery.
The DC directed the District AYUSH Officer to increase OPD services in AYUSH institutions. He assured that the District Administration will extend all possible support to strengthen AYUSH facilities.
It was also informed that the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, will be organising the 10th Ayurveda Day on September 23, 2025. As part of the celebration, a series of activities will be held, including seminars, quiz and debate competitions, plantation drives, medical check-ups, yoga sessions, and screenings for non-communicable diseases, among others.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, CDPO Rahida Lone, CEO Sanjay Dogra, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Sanjeev Kumar Gupta and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
