- Directs departments to focus on achieving key development Indicators
RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress achieved under the Aspirational Block Programme in Block Khawas. The meeting was aimed at evaluating the performance of different departments and expediting interventions in critical sectors to achieve saturation of identified indicators.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on improving health, education, rural development and livelihood parameters. He directed the Health Department to intensify the screening of local people for non-communicable diseases across the block. He suggested training science students to assist in the screening process. He further asked the ICDS Department to enhance the coverage of pregnant and lactating women on the Poshan Tracker, ensuring real-time monitoring of nutritional services.
To boost women’s empowerment and livelihood opportunities, the DC directed the stakeholder departments to encourage Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to step up their activities to record tangible progress in income generation. The RDD authorities were instructed to expedite the completion of PMAY houses within the stipulated timelines.
The School Education Department was directed to verify and update data on the UDISE portal, ensure proper pupil-teacher ratio, and prioritize the construction of toilets in schools for better hygiene facilities. The Animal Husbandry Department was asked to ensure 100% vaccination of livestock, while the PHE Department was instructed to extend groundwater facilities to underserved areas.
