• Calls for Mission-Mode approach to eliminate the disease

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, who also serves as Chairman of District Health Society, today chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation status of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) in the district. At the outset, the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal presented the department's current strategies and action plans aimed at the elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) in the district.

The DC issued a series of critical directions to strengthen execution of the programme at the grassroots level. He directed the Health Department to create institution-wise IDs and appoint dedicated nodal officers for each health institution to ensure close and continuous monitoring. He further directed the compilation of updated TB patient data across the district within two weeks which shall be submitted to his office.

The DC stressed upon the need for a mission-mode approach and urged all field functionaries of the Health Department to work with utmost dedication and urgency to achieve the targets of the national TB elimination programme.
