GUREZ: A one-day awareness-cum-seed distribution programme was organized under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Project No. 15 (Rainfed Area Development), by DARS-Rangreth, SKUAST-K, at Baduab, Tulail, in collaboration with MARES/KVK-Gurez. During the programme, seeds of fodder oats were distributed among 60- farmers to promote sustainable fodder production in the region.
During the event, Head of KVK/MAR&ES-Gurez, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Malik highlighted various initiatives undertaken by KVK-Gurez and emphasized its role in uplifting the farming community of the region. Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Professor at DARS-Rangreth, SKUAST-K, sensitized farmers with an updated package of practices for oats cultivation, tailored specifically to the agroecological conditions of Tulail.
The programme aimed to promote climate-resilient and region-specific agricultural practices to ensure fodder security in remote areas like Tulail. The farmers appreciated the initiative and showed enthusiasm towards adopting improved varieties and technologies for better productivity and livelihood enhancement.
