JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, organized a workshop for the speakers designated for the ongoing Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan programmes in Jammu & Kashmir, at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The workshop was addressed by BJP National Secretary & Atmanirbhar Bharat Programme J&K Prabhari Dr. Alka Gurjar and BJP J&K General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, while it was chaired by J&K BJP Vice-President Rajeev Charak. Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra (Convenor of Abhiyan for J&K) and Gopal Mahajan, Secretaries Dinesh Sharma and Pawan Sharma, and CA Rajiv Gupta also addressed the workshop.
Party leaders designated as speakers for the Abhiyan, District Prabharis, Presidents, and Seh-Prabharis, MLAs, and senior leaders participated in the workshop. Dr. Alka Gurjar, while addressing the workshop, said that Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi five years ago, has today become a people’s movement symbolizing self-reliance, innovation, and national pride. She said that Atmanirbhar Bharat is not just an economic campaign but a call to embrace Swadeshi values, self-sufficiency, and confidence in India’s capabilities. She added that the spirit of Vocal for Local and the vision of taking India from Local to Global have inspired citizens to believe in our own products, enterprises, and ideas.
Dr. Gurjar said that the mission has strengthened industries, MSMEs, agriculture, start-ups, and technology sectors, while encouraging sustainable growth and indigenous manufacturing. She emphasized that when every home adopts Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Swadeshi, it strengthens farmers, artisans, and small businesses, making Bharat truly self-reliant.
Ashok Koul, while sharing the roadmap of the Abhiyan, said that the campaign commenced on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jayanti (25th September) and will continue till 25th December, celebrated as Good Governance Day on the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that extensive programmes like Mahila and Yuva Sammelans, press conferences, and district-level workshops will be held across J&K to spread the message of Swadeshi and Atmanirbharta down to the booth level.
Rajeev Charak, in his remarks, said that Swadeshi is not merely a slogan but a moral and economic force that can transform India into a producer nation, empowering every citizen through self-reliance. Dr. Nirmal Singh underlined that Atmanirbharta is the foundation of a strong nation, urging every Indian to contribute by trusting and promoting indigenous enterprises.
Sanjita Dogra provided a detailed overview of the workshop, highlighting its importance in training the speakers to effectively communicate the objectives of the Abhiyan at the grassroots level. Gopal Mahajan expressed gratitude to all the participants and said that the party expects the cadre to ensure that the message of Atmanirbharta reaches every household and every segment of society.
Dinesh Sharma emphasized the need to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat by empowering local entrepreneurship and encouraging innovation in traditional and modern sectors. Pawan Sharma urged people to prefer indigenous gadgets and accessories, saying that self-reliance in technology is key to national progress. Rajiv Gupta said that the recent GST reforms by Modi government will strengthen Atmanirbhar Bharat mission by boosting self-sustaining economy.
