JAMMU: ASCOMS & Hospital, in collaboration with the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), successfully organized a pre-conference workshop for DIAGNOSTICON'25 on 8th November 2024, Friday at the ASCOMS Auditorium. The workshop, held with the aim of enhancing knowledge on healthcare accreditation and diagnostic excellence, saw an enthusiastic participation from clinicians, doctors from lab diagnostics, hospital administrators, lab professionals, nursing and paramedical staff, and students.
The event was inaugurated by key dignitaries, Dr. Gautam Mengi, Joint Secretary, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. Meraj Din, DGM, Hospital Administration & Audit, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. Aparna Jairam, renowned healthcare professional and key organizer of the event. Also present were Mr. Rakesh Raman (Member, Governing Body), Dr. Bella Mahajan (HOD, Microbiology) and senior faculty members.
The workshop included a series of expert-led presentations on critical topics surrounding accreditation in healthcare organizations and laboratory diagnostics. These sessions were delivered both physically and virtually, allowing a wider audience to benefit from the expertise shared by esteemed speakers.

Dr. Venkatesh Thuppil (CEO & Director, FQI) presented on "Role of Accreditation in Healthcare", emphasizing how accreditation ensures higher standards of patient care, safety, and operational efficiency in healthcare institutions. Dr. Malini R. Capoor (VMMC & SJH, Delhi) discussed "Biomedical Waste Management". Dr. Aparna Jairam (Dr. Aparna's Pathology Labs) spoke on "Risk Assessment, Equipment Planning & Human Resource Management". Dr. Sarika Ghai (ASCOMS, Jammu) addressed "Quality Lab Assurance", underlining the importance of standardized processes and quality control in diagnostic laboratories for accurate results. Dr. Mamta Kankra (Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi) presented on "Documentation & Records Management", focusing on the importance of accurate and comprehensive documentation in maintaining quality assurance. Dr. Vibha Uppal (VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi) covered "Care of Patients". Dr. Neelam Khanna (Batra Hospital and MRC, Delhi) presented on "Hospital Infection Prevention & Control", underscoring the need for stringent infection control measures in healthcare settings. Mr. Abdul Dhayan (HCG Bangalore) delivered a talk on "Nursing Excellence in Accreditation".
