SRINAGAR: A collaborative sports event was organized today by the Excise Range South Kashmir in partnership with the Government Higher Secondary School Vessue Qazigund, as part of the J&K Nasha Mukt Abiyan initiative, which advocates against the use of psychotropic substances and tobacco products. The joint effort featured an awareness campaign alongside a volleyball match centered on the theme of "Drug Abuse: Its Implications, Challenges, and the Path Forward."
Prior to the commencement of the match, all players, staff members, and spectators took a pledge to reject drugs and psychotropic substances, including the cultivation of poppy and bhang. The event was inaugurated by the principal, accompanied by excise officers and officials. The match concluded with a ceremony recognizing participants, where certificates, medals, and mementos were awarded as tokens of appreciation.
Following the match, participants, including students from various clusters, were educated about the increasing issue of drug addiction among youth. Experts from the Excise Department, along with the principal, delivered insightful speeches on the subject, urging students to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and to serve as ambassadors for the department in disseminating this vital message for the greater good.
In the final segment of the event, students collectively reaffirmed their commitment to abstaining from drug influences. It is noteworthy that the function also emphasized the importance of preserving India's heritage and embracing the values of our illustrious past.
