JAMMU: In a distinguished ceremony held at Gurdwara Saheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, Akali Kour Singh Nagar, Digiana, S. Varinder Jeet Singh, Chairman National Sikh Front (NSF), was honored for his tireless service to the Sikh community and broader society.
The ceremony was marked by an address from Gurdwara Committee President S. Kulwant Singh Bhatti, who highlighted Singh's key achievements. Among these, Singh's pivotal role on the Railway Board was emphasized, particularly his success in securing a long-demanded direct train service from Jammu to Hazoor Sahib Nanded. He has been a staunch advocate for the rights of Sikhs in Kashmir, working tirelessly to push for government packages to support their rehabilitation and employment opportunities.
Addressing the Sikh Sangat S.Gurdyal Singh Bali said that Under Singh's leadership, the NSF has made significant strides in addressing critical issues faced by the Sikh community. Notable among these are his campaigns for the installation of a statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk, the enforcement of the Anand Marriage Act, and the release of Sikh political prisoners. These efforts have solidified NSFâs reputation as a leading voice for Sikh advocacy.
While speaking with a Mamoth Gathering of Sikh sangat S Gurcharan Singh Sudan said that NSFâs support for government initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the Sikh community has also been a hallmark of Singhâs tenure. He has championed various programs designed to provide essential support and improve living conditions for Sikhs and other communities.
He further said that Singhâs vision of inclusive governance and community welfare is exemplified by projects such as enhanced connectivity through dedicated train services to Hazoor Sahib. His grassroots advocacy, combined with effective political mobilization, continues to shape the future of community welfare and governance.
The National Sikh Front, under Singhâs dedicated leadership, remains at the forefront of advocating for Sikh community issues, ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of governance. On this occasion Gurdwara Committee also honored Ex. Hon. Capt. S. Bachiter Singh for his significant contributions for the country.
