JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, while terming the decision of the railways to lay a third track between Jalandhar and Jammu, as one more step towards improving operational efficiency and boosting economic development, said that the Modi Govt is focusing on providing the best means of travel and transportation to J&K. He was discussing the Rs 5600 crore project in this regard with BJP spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan and Jammu South District Prabhari Parduman Singh at party headquarters.
Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the ā¹5,600 crore project, sanctioned under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflects the Governmentās continuous focus on developing modern transport infrastructure and improving connectivity across the northern region. He stated that once completed, the project would significantly reduce travel congestion, ensure smooth movement of freight and passengers, and further integrate J&K with the national economy.
āThe Modi Government has always prioritized connectivity and infrastructure in border and hilly states. The JalandharāJammu third track will not only strengthen the logistics network but also open up new opportunities for trade, tourism, and employment,ā Billawaria remarked.
He emphasized that the project will particularly benefit farmers, traders, and small industries by ensuring faster transportation of goods, agricultural produce, and essential commodities. Improved railway connectivity, he said, will also give a major boost to tourism and pilgrimage circuits in Jammu region, further supporting the local economy.
Billawaria further stated that the continuous development of rail, road, and air connectivity under the Modi Government is transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of opportunities. Balbir Ram Rattan said that from Vande Bharat trains to modern highways, every initiative reflects the governmentās commitment to making J&K a developed and prosperous region.
He said that such projects are proof of the visionary policies of Prime Minister Modi, which aim to bring every part of the country, especially Jammu and Kashmir āat par with the most developed regions of India. āThis third rail line will stand as a symbol of progress, national integration, and the governmentās resolve to build a stronger and connected India,ā he added.
