AWANTIPORA: Continuing its efforts under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Awantipora carried out a series of awareness and enforcement activities across the Police district.

Police Station Awantipora organized a bike rally in Awantipora, while Police Station Tral conducted a rally in Tral, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

An awareness programme was also conducted at Government High School Naristan, where students and staff were sensitized about the ill effects of narcotics and the importance of staying away from substance abuse.

Meanwhile, Police Station Khrew conducted enforcement drives and issued several challans against violators of tobacco control laws. Several individuals were fined under the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) for offences such as smoking in public places. Police reiterates its commitment towards curbing drug abuse and maintaining law and order, urging the public to actively support the initiative.
