KATRA: Prof. (Dr) Manoj Kumar Gupta, Professor, School of Computer Science and Technology, has presented the research paper titled “Real-Time Indian Sign Language Interpretation by Deep Neural Network and MediaPipe Framework” at the 28th International Conference on Advanced Communications Technology (ICACT 2026), an IEEE-sponsored and Scopus-indexed international conference. The prestigious event, organised by Global IT Research Institute (GIRI), , in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The paper is co-authored by Mr Devesh Singh, a student of SoCSE. The conference brought together leading researchers, academicians, and industry experts from around the world to share advancements in communication technologies and related fields. The presented paper introduces an innovative real-time system for interpreting Indian Sign Language using deep neural networks integrated with the MediaPipe framework.
The research highlights the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for the hearing-impaired community through efficient gesture recognition and translation.
