JAMMU: A one-day training workshop on the Role of Media and Social Media in Governance, Particularly in the Forest Department was successfully organized at the Soil Conservation Training School, Miran Sahib. The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of media in promoting transparency, accountability, and public engagement in governance, with a special focus on forestry and environmental conservation.
Renowned journalist, Ashish Kohli was the chief speaker, sharing valuable insights on the impact of traditional and digital media in shaping public perception and policy implementation. The event witnessed active participation from foresters across various divisions of Jammu province, along with regular KFC trainees.
Dr. Rakesh Verma, Range Officer, played a pivotal role in organizing the workshop, ensuring meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Instructor Rajesh Salalia. The workshop was conducted under the direct supervision of Neha Mehta, Principal, and Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forest (Working Plan, Research and Training) whose guidance contributed to the event's success.
