The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

KATHUA: The Child Development Project Office (CDPO), Barnoti, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Kathua, organized an awareness program on gender equality and girl child empowerment under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative at Government Higher Secondary School, Chandwan. Campaigns like today’s Nukkad Natak by Rangyug play a key role in inspiring change and raising awareness on critical social issues,” she said.

The CDPO also underlined the importance of initiatives like Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi, which integrates child nutrition with early education. “The holistic development of children, especially girls, remains central to our efforts. By ensuring proper nutrition and access to quality education, we aim to build a healthier and more empowered society,” she added.

The program saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local community members. Interactive discussions and heartfelt pledges of support highlighted the collective commitment to promoting girl child empowerment. The impactful street play left a lasting impression, inspiring everyone to work toward ensuring a more inclusive and equitable society.
