The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: In the wake of heavy rainfall that wreaked havoc in several areas of Jammu, the Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Jammu branch, stepped forward to provide emergency relief to affected families. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament and Chander Mohan Gupta, former Mayor of Jammu were the special invitees of the occasion. Ration kits and tarpaulins were distributed among the most impacted residents of Kishanpur, Kanha Pota, Kanyala, Chhurta, Jhajjar Kotli, Mand, Dansal, and Bajalta villages.

Srimat Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Bharat Sevashram Sangha Jammu and Kashmir Branch, expressed his concern for the affected families and emphasized the importance of timely humanitarian aid. “Our mission is to stand by the people in times of distress. These relief kits and essential supplies are a small token of support, but they will help families meet immediate needs and recover from this calamity,” he said.

Jugal Kishore Sharma lauded the Sangha’s efforts and urged citizens to come forward and help the victims. “Heavy rains have caused significant hardship in these villages. I appeal to fellow citizens and organizations to contribute generously so that the affected families can regain stability. The Sangha’s swift action demonstrates how community efforts can bring relief where it is needed most,” he stated.

Chander Mohan Gupta praised the relief drive and highlighted the need for collective responsibility in such times. “Natural calamities like these remind us that solidarity and prompt action are vital. I commend the Bharat Sevashram Sangha for its dedication and urge local authorities and citizens to continue supporting relief initiatives for the people of Kishanpur, Kanha Pota, Kanyala, Chhurta, Jhajjar Kotli, Mand, Dansal, and Bajalta,” he said. The distribution drive witnessed active participation from local volunteers and Sangha officials, ensuring that aid reached those most in need.
