The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • Distributes sweets and shares festive joy

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today celebrated the festival of lights, Deepawali with children from Palaash at Nowshera—an institution for orphan and underprivileged children. The event was filled with warmth, joy and the true spirit of inclusion as the DC interacted affectionately with the children and distributed sweets among them.

The celebration aimed to bring smiles to the faces of the children and ensure that they too share in the joy, hope and togetherness that Diwali symbolizes. The Deputy Commissioner spent quality time with the children, encouraged them to participate in festive activities and lauded the sincere efforts of the caregivers and staff working for their welfare.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Abhishek Sharma said that Diwali is not merely about lights and decorations, but about spreading happiness, compassion and kindness among those who need it the most. He emphasized that celebrating festivals with such children fosters empathy and reminds society of its shared duty to build an inclusive and caring community. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, Tehsildar Nowshera and other district and sectoral officers.
