The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

POONCH: The District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for Mission YUVA held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma has approved 107 cases during its 6th meeting held at the DC Office, Poonch. This significant decision marks another milestone in the district’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance among the youth under the flagship Mission YUVA initiative.

The participants contributed to the deliberations with constructive inputs aimed at ensuring transparent and efficient implementation of the scheme. While reviewing the agenda, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all SBDU members. He directed them to work in close collaboration, ensuring that all processes from application scrutiny to final sanction are carried out in a time-bound and hassle-free manner.

The DC emphasized that Mission YUVA is a transformative program designed to empower local youth through financial assistance, skill enhancement and enterprise creation, thereby generating sustainable livelihoods and reducing unemployment. The Deputy Commissioner further instructed all members to maintain block-wise, panchayat-wise and activity-wise monitoring of the sanctioned cases. This would not only strengthen the tracking and evaluation process but also guarantee that every panchayat within the district benefits from the scheme’s outreach, he added.

He stressed the need for continuous follow-up and field verification to ensure that the sanctioned projects are executed on the ground in accordance with the approved proposals.

Highlighting the broader vision of the initiative, Ashok Kumar Sharma reiterated that the ultimate objective of Mission YUVA is to nurture a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-employment among the district’s youth. He called upon all stakeholders to put in their best efforts to achieve 100% coverage and ensure that no eligible applicant is left behind.
