The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

The promotions were issued following the successful conduct of departmental practical tests. The long-awaited step has brought a sense of relief and happiness among employees and is expected to help address the shortage of skilled craftsmen within the department.

EJAC President Wajahat Hussain Durrani, General Secretary Sajad Ahmad Parray and Provincial President Kashmir (NMOPS) Suhaib Munshi expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Worthy Director Mussarat-ul-Islam for his dynamic leadership and employee-friendly approach.

They also extended their sincere thanks to Joint Director Handicrafts and Handloom Deeba Khalid Peer, Deputy Director Handicrafts and Handloom Mirza Shahid Ali Beigh and Deputy Director (Administration) Riyaz-ul-Haq for their dedicated efforts in ensuring a smooth, transparent and merit-based promotion process. The leaders said employees feel fortunate to work under such competent and committed officers.

The EJAC leadership also recalled that during his earlier tenure as Director Handicrafts, Mussarat-ul-Islam had taken several landmark employee-friendly initiatives, including the enhancement of stipends for trainees. They noted that he has consistently taken progressive decisions that have strengthened the department and boosted the morale of its workforce.

EJAC congratulated all the newly promoted Crafts Instructors and wished them success in their new responsibilities, expressing hope that they will continue to serve with dedication, professionalism and contribute to further strengthening the department.

Meanwhile, the EJAC leadership urged the Administrative Department to speed up the nomination of members for convening the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), which has been delayed several times. They expressed hope that the matter will be taken up at the earliest so that all deserving employees receive their due promotions without any further delay.
