The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Senior leader & Prabhari District Doda Pawan Sharma, has welcomed the Modi - Government’s decision to implement "One Nation, One Election," terming it a revolutionary step towards strengthening democracy and ensuring efficient governance. He said that this initiative will help in improving the election process in the country and saving public money.

Pawan Sharma said that the main objective of the concept of One Nation, One Election is to improve the election process in the country and save public money. He said that this concept will help in making the election process in the country more transparent and accountable.

Pawan Sharma said that, One Nation, One Election (ONOE) proposal envisions holding all elections—Lok Sabha, state assemblies, and local bodies—within the same year, if not simultaneously. The plan proposes a two-phase approach: the first phase would cover Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, followed by local body polls within 100 days.

Pawan Sharma further stated that this initiative is the need of the hour for a vast and diverse country like India. He emphasized that it will not only save valuable public resources but also ensure uninterrupted development and smooth functioning of administrative machinery. The move is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the country's socio-political, economic, and scientific developmental goals.

He further warned opposition parties against indulging in unnecessary politics on this issue of national importance. Sharma urged them to adopt a constructive approach and work collaboratively with the government to transform India into a fully developed nation. He reiterated that such reforms are essential for the nation’s progress and reflect the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
