The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • Modi Government Committed to Reaching Every Affected Citizen in Jammu & Kashmir

JAMMU: Expressing heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for their decisive and compassionate leadership, Pawan Sharma, BJP Senior Leader and State Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, said:

"The sanction of ₹209 crore under SDRF reflects the Modi Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The proactive steps by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will not only bring immediate relief but also ensure the rebuilding process is carried out with dignity, transparency, and speed. The BJP stands firmly with every affected family and will work in close coordination with the administration to guarantee that no victim is left behind."

Pawan Sharma stated that, in pursuance of this vision, the Union Government has sanctioned ₹209 crore under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to strengthen relief and rehabilitation efforts in Jammu & Kashmir. This crucial allocation is aimed at ensuring swift delivery of immediate relief, effective rehabilitation, and restoration of normalcy for families severely affected by the recent floods and other natural calamities in the Union Territory.

To further strengthen the response, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has deputed a dedicated team to Jammu & Kashmir for an on-ground assessment of damages. Based on its findings, the Union Government will extend additional financial and logistical support to meet emerging needs. Under SDRF provisions, a comprehensive damage assessment of houses, agricultural land, livestock, and essential properties is already underway to ensure timely and rightful compensation for all affected families.

“The BJP leadership has assured the people of Jammu & Kashmir that relief operations will be carried out with complete transparency and accountability. Our approach will remain people-centric, ensuring that every affected household receives timely and rightful assistance without exception,” stated Pawan Sharma.
