KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan chaired a meeting with officers from the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj to review the implementation of flagship schemes, including the Aspirational Block Development Program (ABDP), Aspirational Panchayat Development Program (APDP),
The DC highlighted the critical importance of timely implementation, quality, and transparency in executing these schemes. The BDOs were instructed to ensure the completion of ongoing projects within specified timeframe and sought action against the contractors not fulfilling their work obligations. Strict actions, such as blacklisting non-performing contractors and re-tendering projects for swift completion, were recommended.
Additionally, a 7-day timeline was set for Panchayat Secretaries to complete geo-tagging. The DC emphasized transparency and accountability as central principles in RDD sector projects across the district. He also directed BDOs to camp in all blocks to recover funds from PMAY-G beneficiaries who have not yet begun construction of their houses.
He further stressed the need for spreading awareness to promote SBM-G, as well as encouraging Self-Help Group members to produce and use eco-friendly carry bags. The DC asked to build 10 community soakage pits, 3 community compost pits in each Panchayat.
The DC urged the officers to work diligently and with unwavering dedication to achieve the targets set for the current financial year, stressing the need for rigorous monitoring to uphold work quality. The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali, ACD/ACP Kishtwar Phulail Singh, XEN REW, BDOs, AEEs, Panchayat Secretaries and other RDD officials.
