SRINAGAR: As part of the observance of Legal Services Day, to be celebrated on 9 November 2024, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar has initiated a week-long series of events focused on raising awareness about free legal aid services in the district. These events are held under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA/Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, and under the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/ Secretary DLSA Srinagar.
As part of this initiative, DLSA Srinagar conducted an extensive awareness programme on free legal aid services, reaching out to various communities within the district. The program, part of the week-long Legal Services Week, included door-to-door awareness campaigns led by para-legal volunteers of DLSA Srinagar. This outreach effort aims to empower individuals, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, by informing them about the legal resources available to them.
In addition to the door-to-door campaigns, DLSA Srinagar organized awareness sessions at various legal literacy clubs and legal aid clinics across Srinagar. These sessions aimed to empower individuals with knowledge about their legal rights and the free services available to them, ensuring that every citizen is aware of the support they can receive under the legal aid framework. The ongoing Legal Services Week activities serve as a build-up to the celebration of Legal Services Day on 9 November.
