RAJOURI: In a concerted effort to promote road safety and reinforce traffic regulations, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Rajouri, under the supervision of ARTO Rajesh and MVI Rahul Singh, conducted an intensive drive against traffic violations across the district. As many as 32 vehicles were e-challaned under different provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, amounting to a total fine of over Rs. 2.71 lakh.
In a specific case, a bus was seized at Police Post Chingus for illegally transporting goods on its roof, which is a serious violation of safety norms. In addition, the department recommended the suspension of driving licenses of four school bus drivers. These drivers were found guilty of overloading and dangerous driving, endangering the lives of school children and other road users. The action reflects the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards violations, especially when it involves the safety of children.
Furthering the message of road safety, the ARTO Team, in collaboration with the District Administration, organized a bicycle rally from Sunderbani to Rajouri. The rally was flagged off by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, with enthusiastic participation from youth and road safety advocates. A special motorcycle contingent from Jammu also joined the initiative, drawing attention to the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic rules.
