SRINAGAR: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, an awareness programme on Drug De-Addiction was organized at Balhama Panchayat-B to sensitize the local population, especially the youth, about the ill effects of drug abuse and the importance of a drug-free society. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of youth and local residents.
Block Development Officer Khonmoh, Officials from various line Departments, and members of the community were present on the occasion. During the programme, Resource persons spoke about prevention, rehabilitation, and support mechanisms available for individuals affected by substance abuse.
The event was part of an ongoing initiative to educate the youth and the general public about the growing menace of drug addiction and the collective responsibility to fight it. The programme concluded with a pledge by the participants to contribute towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society.
