- Drug De-addiction awareness program organised at GDC Pattan
BANDIPORA: In a continued effort to combat the drug menace and promote community engagement, police organised drug de-addiction awareness programmes in Bandipora and Baramulla.
Police in Bandipora organized One-Day Awareness Yodha Programme on “Drug Abuse" under Operation Sanjivani at conference Hall DPL Bandipora. The programme was chaired by DySP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Latief Khan-JKPS (Nodal Officer NCORD), in which 53 students & teachers of Govt Degree College Bandipora and Sumbal participated.
The aim behind organizing this program is to spread awareness regarding this menace among the general masses particularly students of district Bandipora about the drawbacks and destruction being caused to society due to this drug abuse. The awareness Programme was designed to cultivate young minds of college going/adolescent youth to fight against drug menace which is spreading like anything between the youths especially school/college going students.
Speaking on the occasion, DySP Hqrs said that such awareness programs will definitely help to aware the student community about the drawbacks of this deadly disease which is destroying our future generations. He further highlighted the psychological and medical aspects of Drug abuse in tender age students.
Moreover, Police in Baramulla under the leadership of SDPO Pattan Shri Shahjahan Choudary-JKPS, organized a Drug De-addiction Awareness Program at Government Degree College Pattan. The initiative aimed to educate students about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and encourage responsible citizenship.
The program was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Pattan and SHO PS Pattan. They addressed the gathering, emphasizing the severe consequences of drug addiction and the significance of maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. The officers urged students to remain vigilant and actively participate in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse within their communities. The students in their speech complimented the role of Police in guiding the society against this menace and congratulated the police for taking this step.
