AWANTIPORA: Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, Charar-e-Shareif, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), observed World Health Day 2025 in collaboration with Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Charar-e-Shareif. The event was held in line with this year’s World Health Organization (WHO) theme: Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.
The programme was held across at SDH Charar-e-Shareif and the college campus. the event witnessed the participation of ASHA workers and hospital staff, students, faculty, and college staff.
Speakers from SDH Charar-e-Shareif and IUST addressed key issues such as cleanliness, mental health, and maternal and child healthcare — including antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care, essential newborn care, brain development, and nutrition.
A poster competition reflecting the WHO 2025 theme was also held. Dr. Zamrooda Akhter, Principal of Alamdar Memorial College, emphasized the importance of health awareness and community involvement in building a healthier society.
