The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, BJP Senior Leader and State Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, Pawan Sharma, has warmly welcomed the Government of India’s landmark decision to exempt minority communities — Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians — from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, who have come to India due to religious persecution till 31st December 2024, from the requirement of holding a passport and visa.

Sharma said this humanitarian step showcases the Modi Government’s firm resolve to protect, rehabilitate, and integrate those who have long endured religious persecution in neighbouring countries. For decades, Hindus, Sikhs, and other minorities in Pakistan and elsewhere were denied dignity, security, and equal rights, compelled to live as second-class citizens under constant fear. This landmark decision, he added, brings a ray of hope and a sense of justice to thousands of such families seeking refuge in Bharat.

Highlighting the historical context, Sharma recalled that during the Partition of 1947, lakhs of families were torn apart, and while many sought refuge in Bharat, countless others were left behind amidst massacre and persecution. At that time, leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and others had assured that any Hindu, Sikh or member of persecuted minority families unable to return then, would always have Bharat as their natural home — a place of safety, shelter, and citizenship.

“This decision by the Modi Government is a fulfilment of that long-standing promise and a continuation of India’s civilizational duty. It demonstrates Bharat’s compassion and moral responsibility towards those who share our heritage and values,” Shri Sharma said.

He further emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir, having itself borne the brunt of displacement and persecution in history, deeply resonates with the pain of such families. “As a son of Jammu & Kashmir, I extend solidarity with every persecuted brother and sister who finds a new dawn in Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji. This decision once again proves that the BJP government stands firm on the path of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” he added.

Sharma expressed confidence that this step would not only provide immediate relief to the affected families but also pave the way for their integration into India’s social and cultural fabric with dignity and security. He reiterated that the BJP under Modi Ji is determined to undo historical injustices and uphold Bharat’s identity as the natural home for persecuted minorities from the subcontinent.
