KULGAM: In order to promote safety, encouraging students and staff to take proactive steps to minimise road accidents, the Debates and Seminar Committee of Govt. Degree College (GDC) Frisal, in collaboration with the NSS Unit today organized a One-Day Seminar on road safety. The event began in the college auditorium, drawing students and faculty from various departments.
Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah, Principal GDC Frisal gave the programme a dynamic start with his thoughtful words. He emphasized the importance of awareness in minimising road accidents and other allied driving risks. His introduction set the tone for the session, emphasizing the importance of the topic and preparing the attendees for an insightful and engaging experience.
Earlier, Dr. Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh, NSS Program Officer, presented a warm welcome address. Resource persons, Dr Muzifar Yousuf and Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Tantray delivered the lectures to raise the awareness among the students regarding the safety measures, rules and regulations set for safe driving and the necessary precautions to be taken while driving.
The programme concluded with Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah, Principal GDC Frisal, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, and attendees. He reaffirmed the college's unwavering commitment in raising awareness among students to minimise human as well as financial resources in road accidents.
