The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

GANDERBAL: In order to strengthen the healthcare services and improving access to safe and quality blood transfusion facilities, the Drug Control Organization, J&K has granted a licence to the District Hospital Ganderbal for additional blood component facility viz Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBC), Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), Platelet Concentrates, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Cryoprecipitated Anti-Haemophilic Factor.

The license marks an important milestone in enhancing the availability of blood component services in the district  Ganderbal and will facilitate better patient care particularly for patients requiring specific blood components during medical emergencies, surgeries and other critical treatments.

The initiative reflects the department's commitment to ensuring the availability of safe, effective and quality-assured blood and blood components through a robust regulatory framework and strict adherence to prescribed standards.

This development is expected to provide considerable relief to patients and their attendants in Ganderbal by strengthening local blood transfusion support and reducing dependence on facilities outside the district wherever services are available locally.

The Drug Department, J&K reiterated its commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and facilitating improved access to essential healthcare services for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family
