SOPORE: Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Police in Sopore have apprehended two drug peddlers during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Post Warpora and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

During naka checking at Sangri Top, Watlab, two suspicious individuals were intercepted. During their personal search, contraband substance was recovered. The have been identified as Asif Ahmad Mir son of Sanaullah Mir resident of Sangri Watlab and Shahbaz Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Nabi Lone resident of Watlab, Sopore.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 215/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.

J&K Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and remains committed to sustained action against drug peddlers to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs.
