SRINAGAR: A six-week Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program was inaugurated by the Ministry of MSME’s Field Office, Branch MSME DFO Srinagar, in collaboration with the Department of IT, NIT Srinagar. The program, which focuses on equipping youth with knowledge on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies, aims to help businesses in the manufacturing and service sectors boost their operations through innovation.
In his inaugural address, Assistant Director MSME, Saheel Alaqband, emphasized the importance of such programs in today's business landscape, where technology plays a critical role in shaping the future of industries. He highlighted that MSMEs must adopt AI and related technologies to stay competitive, and stressed the necessity of having proper data and documentation in place to enable the seamless implementation of these technologies.
Dr. Shabir Ahmad, HOD Department of IT, NIT Srinagar, spoke about the one-month course, noting that the program would cover various aspects of AI and ML, with practical demonstrations to ensure hands-on learning. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of topics, including how to leverage AI & ML to enhance business growth.
The course will also feature sessions from various stakeholders in entrepreneurship development, including bankers, Officials from District Industries Centre (DIC), and successful entrepreneurs. A special focus will be placed on alternate sources of funding for startups and MSMEs. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of all partners in making the program a reality.
