RAJOURI: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, conducted an extensive enforcement drive in Sunderbani and adjoining areas. The drive aimed at ensuring strict compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and promoting road safety.
During the enforcement drive, commercial and non-commercial vehicles were thoroughly checked, and violators were challaned under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The details of the challans issued included Without Helmet, Without Seat Belt, Uninsured Vehicles, Alteration in Goods Vehicles, Overloading in Passenger Vehicles, Without Registration Papers, Absence of Fare Chart, Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate, Without Driving License & Without High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP).
A total of 37 challans were issued during the drive, leading to the imposition of fines amounting to ₹1,03,500 on traffic violators. Additionally, two driving licenses were recommended for suspension, and three vehicles were seized and kept at Sunderbani Police Station. ARTO Rajouri has urged vehicle owners and drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to avoid penalties and ensure safer roads for all.
