JAMMU: In a continued effort to promote environmental sustainability, Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) organized a plantation drive in collaboration with Govt. Higher Secondary School Kathar. The drive was hoisted by Yogita Sharma, Principal, along with Pritam Lal Verma, Lecturer, and Anil Kumar and Multan Singh, Teachers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all staff members and students of the school.
The plantation drive, conducted under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, aimed at enhancing green cover and raising environmental awareness among students and locals. A variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing trees, medicinal plants, and shade-providing species, were planted within the school premises as part of SGWFâs ongoing âAdopt a Treeâ campaign.
Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, highlighted the importance of ceremonial plantation drives in connecting communities to nature and inspiring collective responsibility towards environmental conservation. She emphasized that such initiatives help cultivate a sense of respect for trees and nature among the younger generation.
Makhni Devi, General Secretary of SGWF, also participated in the drive and encouraged the students and staff to actively contribute to such green initiatives. She appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the school and assured continuous support from SGWF for similar events in the future.
Addressing the gathering, Yogita Sharma, Principal, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of trees in combating climate change and maintaining ecological balance. Pritam Lal Verma and other teachers encouraged students to adopt the planted saplings and ensure their proper care and growth.
Dr. Sonia Verma highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among the youth. She emphasized that such initiatives not only beautify surroundings but also impart a sense of duty towards nature among students.
The drive concluded with a pledge by all participants to protect and nurture the planted saplings and to spread awareness about the importance of trees in ensuring a sustainable future. Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation remains committed to its mission of making Jammu and Kashmir greener and cleaner through community-driven initiatives and widespread plantation drives.
