KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today handed over a cheque of Rs.3.50 crore to J&K Bank for payment to Building & Other Construction Worker beneficiaries under Education Assistance scheme.

Speaking at the occasion, the DC said that empowerment and welfare of the weaker sections of the society is among the top priorities of the Government. She asked the concerned officers to ensure timely redressal of grievances of the Labour beneficiaries so that they do not face any inconvenience in getting benefits under different labour welfare schemes of the Government.

Giving details, the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Kupwara who was present on the occasion, informed that the amount of Rs.3.50 crore under Education Assistance scheme will be credited to the bank accounts of 8027 Labour beneficiaries of the district to facilitate education of their children.
