REASI: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar on Thursday chaired a meeting of functionaries of District administration Reasi to review developmental and economic activities in the District. The meeting evaluated financial and physical achievements under the District Capex Budget, CRIF scheme, PMAY Scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), MGNREGA, and other key developmental initiatives.

At the start, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik gave a detailed presentation on the district’s developmental scenario and implementation of the government schemes across different sectors.  The Divisional Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the construction of roadside drainage systems. He stressed the need for fast tracking infrastructure development and instructed officials to ensure effective fund utilization to complete the works within the stipulated time frame.

Reviewing achievements in the education sector, the Divisional Commissioner underscored the need to improve female literacy rate in the district. He directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) to conduct a special admission drive to motivate students and enhance enrollment. Further, he instructed the CEO to hold regular meetings with Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to monitor progress and implement necessary measures to strengthen the education system.

Assessing healthcare initiatives, the Divisional Commissioner called for maximizing coverage of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme. Evaluating the implementation of PMAY scheme, he directed the functionaries of the concerned departments to initiate recovery from the beneficiaries who have failed to construct the houses. He further called for reinforcing accountability and efficient implementation of the program to benefit deserving individuals.

The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the achievements made under self-employment schemes and instructed the Deputy Commissioner to monitor their implementation closely. He also emphasized the revival, restoration, renovation, and maintenance of heritage sites in the district, highlighting their cultural and historical significance. CPO Narinder Kumar, PO ICDS Mohamad Anwar, ACD Pardeep Kumar, CEO, CMO, CAHO and other officers were present.
