JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, President, Sat Sharma, along with former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, chaired a meeting to discuss and finalise the upcoming "Atal Virasat Sammelan" programmes to be organised in Jammu & Kashmir in March. Sat Sharma, while speaking in the meeting, highlighted the significance of the "Atal Virasat Sammelan". He emphasized that the programmes in this regard, are to be dedicated to celebrating the memories of Atal ji in Jammu and Kashmir, besides, highlighting values and vision of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was instrumental in shaping Indiaâs modern political and economic landscape. Sharma reiterated. that the events would focus on Vajpayeeâs contributions to J&K, particularly his efforts for cordial relations with Pakistan and in fostering peace, development, and good governance.
He shared that the programmes will be organized in every district of Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring widespread participation of senior citizens, scholars, intellectuals, and social representatives. The initiative aims to reinforce the values of democracy, national unity, and inclusive development. Moreover, the events will feature interactions with prominent thinkers and leaders who will share insights on Vajpayeeâs visionary leadership.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, Convenor for the year long Atal Birth Centenary celebrations in Jammu & Kashmir, spoke at length about the initiative, stressing the need to instill Vajpayeeâs ideals among the youth. He pointed out that the "Atal Virasat Sammelan" programmes will serve as a platform to remember and educate people about Vajpayeeâs statesmanship and his commitment to bring peace and normalcy in Jammu
& Kashmir. Singh further added that the series of events planned under the programme would also include seminars, cultural activities, and discussions on Vajpayeeâs policies and his memories in J&K. BJP General Secretary & Co-Convenor, Vibodh Gupta, was assigned the responsibility to oversee the programmes in Kashmir.
