SRINAGAR: The two-day student fest ‘Yusuf té Zareen’ commenced today at Govt. College for Women, M.A. Road, Srinagar. The fest aimed to provide an opportunity to students to showcase their talent in different fields. Besides, Nodal Principal, Prof. Seema Naz who was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function, present on the occasion were Deputy Director Tourism (Media & Publicity) Deeba Khalid, Additional Secretary Law (Tourism), Narjees Nawab, Major Charanjeet Singh from 31 Sub Area of Chinar Corps and Chairman of White Globe NGO, Syed Junaid Saadat.
The inaugural ceremony marked vibrant and enchanting song-and-dance performances by the students on foot-tapping Kashmir, Ladakhi and Punjabi numbers. The highlight of the function was the adaptation of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet titled ‘Yusuf té Zareen’ performed by the members of the drama club which evoked standing ovation from the spell-bound audience.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Incharge Principal, Prof. Rubeena said the event aims to showcase the creativity and talent of students. She said the two-day fest features a diverse range of programmes, including engaging drama and theater acts, vibrant cultural performances, food stalls, gaming competitions and other creative and interactive stalls.
